That old beast, The Aniblog Tourney, has started up for the second time. The aim is quite simple. Smash the egos of bloggers who get crushed under the weight of voters from well-established blogs who barely register the tourney’s existence. Actually the aim of the tourney is to provide a tool for people to discover new blogs in the form of a competition. This early on with a full 168 blogs, it can be a bit intimidating to jump in and start checking everyone out, but it will give you a good idea of the general standard of quality in anime blogging (ie not very high). If you don’t follow many blogs, or were barely even aware that there were this many, I might recommend leaving it for now and coming back a month later when the group stages come around. By then you should have a *cough* slightly higher quality selection of blogs to check out and possibly add to your reading list.
My blog is the last blog out of every single one in the tourney to actually get a chance to compete, being the very last group leader in the very final bracket. As one of the tourney admins, I’m not particularly bothered whether I do well or not, although I have to admit a potential rematch against Sea Slugs does sound appealing. However really I’d just like for people to visit, vote, and hopefully find new blogs that they like.

“By then the crappier blogs should be weeded out and you’ll have a much higher quality selection of blogs to check out and possibly add to your reading list.”
nice choice of words and by nice i mean shitty.
I am actually kind of surprised he said that like that too.
But…they are…oh no, now I feel guilty. Fine, I’ll change it to something more tactile
>Fine, I’ll change it to something more tactile
I can’t imagine how you’d do that…unless you mean ‘tactful’?
So bad publicity is still one of Aniblog Tourney’s main features? I just can’t wait for someone to pick this up and start a rampage on their blog/on Twitter.
Delicious blogger rage, here we go! It’s like BRS TV just with real people.
How could you, Scamp?
How could you say something that horrible?
Just why?
Why did you do it?
I lost all respect for you.
I thought I could trust you.
But no.
Now I know.
But I will never understand.
This tourney is meant to win.
If you are the most advanced in the last bracket, as you are joint ATM. Doesn’t this mean you are 2nd seed?
But I only want to read you Scamp-kun~
Everyone love’s Scamp’s honesty until they’re on the receiving end.
Scampu-kun, ko…ko…kono Baka!
So thankful no one picked my own blog [BLATANT ADVERTISEMENT] to be in this tournament. Honestly, my blog’s the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a #7 seed in the Women’s NIT. It’s that awful.
But this is the only anime blog I read. My opinion is invalid :(
Pssh, Sea Slugs ain’t got nothin’ on The Cart Driver.
amirite?
I’m wishing all the blogs, but especially you, Scamp, good look! I wonder what /a/ thinks about this.
/luck
(And now I look like a fool again. Oh well.)
Uh does the blogs on the brackets are placed depending on what type of anime they write about?
Gotta check them all! Lol…when I get the time and interest -_-
Even as a joke that’s kinda harsh. . .
If by “quality” you mean “seniority and social interaction.”
Oh noes, I lost, my blog is crappy!
Don’t worry, that was a joke!
Hello to the 1.23434 Million People who read TheCartDriver, you folk should totally go and vote. I mean, if you have time to read Scamp’s rants about things that clearly don’t matter, you have time to go read other blogos to!
And yes, Round 3 will be most delicious. I am looking forward to the carnage.
Interesting enough, you tend to attract the best of the viewers out there. By that, I mean the people here actually have coherent thoughts (or at least most of them)…
Make a new post when it comes down to the point where my vote actually matter – too cumbersome to sift through a pile of junk.
Bit harsh.
He’s just being honest.
All blogs need to start off somewhere, just because they might not have been around for very long doesn’t mean they’re necessarily of lesser quality.
It’s not about how long they’ve been around; it’s about how good they are. You’re right.
But how is he wrong for saying that aniblogging somewhat sucks and that the average quality of sites will increase as the rounds go on?
You’ll never be able to get that rematch unfortunately…
Because Eye Sedso is going to handle everyone this time around.
I lost to Anime Yume by 5 votes? UNACCEPTABLE. I’m takin the whole thing this year.
