So you think you know what anime fans like?

Anime licens­ing com­pan­ies in the west are often stuck with try­ing out their pre­dic­tion abil­it­ies to guess what of the latest crop of anime will be a hit. It’s one thing to look at the upcom­ing anime and point out what you’re inter­ested in. It’s another thing alto­gether to be able to pre­dict what will be a hit across fan­dom. On that note, I chal­lenge you, my read­ers, to a game of Fantasy Anime League!

The game runs pretty sim­il­arly to that of the Fantasy Foot­ball games, except at a much sim­pler level. Pick 5 anime and one benched anime out of those just air­ing this sea­son and watch as they rack up points by how many people are watch­ing it (plus a bunch of other factors).

Meh, I’m big­ging it up a bit too much here to the point that it almost sounds daunt­ing. It’s pretty effort­less task once you’ve picked your team. Bey­ond that, the tac­tics mostly con­sist of mak­ing sure your benched anime is not scor­ing more than one of your main ones and swap­ping them round when it does. I will give you one piece of advice though. When you pick your anime first, make sure that the anime on your bench is the one that airs last, usu­ally a Noit­am­ina timeslot anime. If you left that on your start­ing team, it would be 2–3 weeks before it actu­ally got any points, a stand­ard noob mis­take. The air­ing dates are all on Chart­f­ags Amaz­ing Chart so that’s not too much of a bother. Oh, and you will need a MAL account to par­ti­cip­ate, but most people have one any­way and if you don’t, they’re pretty easy to set up.
