Sakura Trick 5 – Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Any time is high-five time. If you see a friend, and you are reasonably certain their hand is clean, then dole out a high-five. It is always appreciated.

Aside from that, I actually thought the reveal of the “Snow White” play being speech-only was legitimately funny. On the one hand, who the hell would want to watch high schoolers in a speech-only play? That sounds awful. (Actually, any high school play sounds awful, but you know.) On the other hand, of course a school isn’t going to put on a play where schoolgirls kiss each other. Duh. But it does a nice job of playing on the audience’s assumptions. Everyone expected the scene where a girl would kiss another girl when “Snow White” was named as the play. EVERYONE. So how’s about we take that way?!?! (And then have a bunch of other scenes with girls kissing each other, making this one denial sort of pointless, but still.)

Then the other part of the episode is titled “Let’s Have Tea with Onee-chan!” and that is about as exciting and fun as one would expect. I wonder how much fun relaxation time I have missed out on in my life because I don’t drink tea. If anime is anything to go by, then it’s a lot. My existence has been thoroughly wasted. (But you already knew that since I spend so much of my time writing about cartoons.)

One more thing before I get to this week’s round of haikus: I finished Steel Ball Run recently and will hopefully be able to write my post on it this week. No idea how long it will take to put together since I never know exactly what I’ll say before I start writing, but there you go. After that I just have JoJolion to catch up on, and my JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure journey will be complete. I will not, however, do any sort of write-up on JoJolion as it’s still going on. With the JoJo manga, I’ve found that I prefer to take the long view of all the madness. If I’m still here when JoJolion ends (whenever the hell that will be), then perhaps I’ll write something. We shall see.

Anyway, silly poems.

When Henry VIII
Needs a sip of fine coffee:
Only Tudar-Bucks!

The big sister glares.
She marks her territory.
Onee-chan battle.

You know what they say
About an apple a day.
Let’s play some Doctor.

Which witch is on top?
This is the true magical
Girl battle. Let’s fight!

The director says:
“Let’s run that scene through again!”
Endless rehearsal.

So with Scamp rescinding your job of covering Kill la Kill and him reporting on how wet his country is, will Inushinde become a full-time slave or shall I expect it to be Dead la Dead?

Also that one girl wants to rip out the other’s throat (adam’s apple).

I’m digging your titles. It looks like you have a lot to choose from as many songs are about smooching.

I do wonder when I’ll not remember kiss-themed song titles off the top of my head.

(They are also a not-so-subtle hint to listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure and, I guess, the Ouran OP.)

Now I can’t think of Sakura Kiss without thinking of Oran’s OP with its lyrics “Kiss kiss fall in love!” It always played on the Funimation channel so it got stuck in my head. Curses!
