A man who is passionate about his chosen profession. A man who can devote hours working to this very subject. A man who’s every waking minute is spent in deep thought on how to improve and embellish his work. This is a post to celebrate these men in anime for there is no man more powerful nor more capable at holding our emotions and capturing our hearts than a passionate man.
The world is full of stone cold killers, their faces lifeless as they assassinate their opposition with ruthless efficiency. After watching yet another person be cut down with unflinching resolve by these killers it starts to get boring after a while. These men have no passion in their profession. You want a man who truly revels in his homicidal tasks. You need a man who will dance in the blood of his victims. You want a man who enjoys talking and killing a lot. You want Ladd Russo
Alex Louis Armstrong
It takes an extraordinary person to build up sufficient passion to enter this post of prestigious passionate men. Many people are left trying to cultivate their raw passion, which is great in its own way, and yet so inferior to those who may have gotten a head start. It’s the refined passion that has been distilled and perfected through the ages. A passion that has been passed down through the Armstrong family through generations. I’d be pretty darn proud of my genes if they produced a body as sparkly as Alex Louis Armstrong.
To understand the passion of Masaru-san is a difficult one. He was already a exuberant man, yet he had no direction through which to flow his energy. His chose his martial art, the way of the Sexy Commando, simply because he picked up a magazine in the woods one day. And yet that magazine changed life. Now he had a meaning, a goal through which his near boundless energy could flow. The man has perfected the Sexy Commando to the point that he can make butterflies congregate at his crotch at will. That skill does not just come to any old person who practices the way of the Sexy Commando. Only to a truly passionate practitioner.
Season 1 Jeremiah was not a man filled with much in the way of passion. He was a stuck up aristocrat. Granted, he was a stuck up aristocrat with a giant robot, yet he had long since lost his reason he became a soldier in the first place. It was only when he was humiliated by Zero and went through intense ‘rehabilitation’ did he rediscover his passion. His loyalty to Queen Marianne and in turn to her son is unquestioned, unbridled and unrivaled. Some people call him Orange, I call him Passion Fruit.
This was a tough one to define. It is clear to anyone that this post would not be complete without the man sculpted out of pure passion. However what is it exactly that he channels his passion into? Devotion towards Minami Haruka? Cooking? I do not believe it is either of these. It does not matter what task he attempts to achieve. There is nothing he believes more in than putting his full effort and devotion into everything in life. Hosaka is passionate about being passionate.
