Nisekoi episode 8 – Girls just want to be told they’re cute

[HorribleSubs] Nisekoi - 08 [480p].mkv_snapshot_05.40_[2014.03.05_09.23.46]My Japanese isn’t all that great
But even if the sound was on mute
I could still quite easily translate
That all girls need to be is cute

We have this girl who’s a badass
But as soon as he starts to flirt
She loses all grace and class
And starts flouncing around in a skirt

[HorribleSubs] Nisekoi - 08 [480p].mkv_snapshot_09.23_[2014.03.05_09.27.46]Because we all know girls get flustered
When told that they look pretty
Even when some courage is mustered
They go from all cool to quite skitty

We all know girls are just useless
Just lumps of meat to admire
All that matters is their cutness
Anything they try do will be dire

When a guy compliments a lady
She’s overcome with constant blushing
We gaze at the space above the knee
Wonder what beneath the skirt might bring

If a girl dresses like she has a ballsack
Then tell her she’s cute and soon she’ll turn back

Again with the solid final stanza! Are you going to watch a series the FAL winner suggests for again? Also, how is the experience of watching a series with no subs? Is it difficult or strange? Would you do it for another series?

Nah, wouldn’t do this again. It’s fun as an experiment, but not again

I am tempted to watch the show to see whether you interpret it right, but since they are the same old harem anime tropes you probably are. (Based on how weak to compliments harem anime girls are I can only conclude that they were kept from any outside contact for all their live and are entirely starved for human contact when they meet the MC. Actually that would explain quite a bit.)

Btw samurai flamenco finally gave information about Goto’s gf in epi 19, not that it has anything to do with nisekoi.

I can confirm Scamp’s been right every week, so much so that I sometimes forget he’s watching the whole thing without subs.

        I am always right

Sexism in a harem anime? Well isn’t that a brand new never-before-seen thing!

I await the premiere of the first social justice harem.

What? All the harems I’m watching* are serious stories about polyamorous relationships between emotionally mature people. The characters are always three dimensional instead of simple character archetypes everyone has seen before. And the character interaction is quite realistic.

*Where watching is defined as “having never seen and probably will never see”.

That’s amazing. Give me recommendations. I’ll watch* them.

You know, ever since your piece on the 2nd episode (where the content of your poetry took quite some naughty turns) I’ve been meaning to ask you:
Why don’t you deliver your Nisekoi posts in the form of dirty limericks? I’ve heard that the Irish invented that particular art of rhyming; that it’s practically a part of national culture on the Emerald Isle. Where’s your pride as an Irishman?

We need to hear Scamp rap first before that.

I remember a request for a rap before. Maybe we can see a limerick rap battle between the blogging trio?

I’ve done limericks before. One of my older season previews, whichever one had Tiger and Bunny out. I decided I needed to try something different
