Nisekoi episode 7 – IT’S A T-otally obviously reveal

vlcsnap-2014-02-23-08h51m41s236I’m sure you were able to tell
The big revelation in this ep
Long before the reveal fell
But let’s go through step by step

If you did’t see it then oh dear
You brain must be just mush and pap
Right from the off it was clear
It’s a trap, it’s a trap, it’s a trap

vlcsnap-2014-02-23-08h58m53s195From literally at first sight
It was so clear it wasn’t funny
And sure enough we were all right
We were all right on the money

It’s like they didn’t even try
There isn’t a single defence
If she was playing TF2 as a spy
She’d die before getting by the fence

Why did they even bother to hide
It was like she was basically nude
It’s not like they really tried
Why bother pretend she’s a dude

vlcsnap-2014-02-23-08h47m38s103But I suppose we’re at least past the halfway mark
So let’s continue following this predictable arc

The people surprised are the same people who thought Mayo Chiki was an intelligent show.

That was a less obvious trap and that trap was in the plot description

i was looking at nisekoi’s aniDB page (’cause I’m the guy who downloads this series for my campus) and I found this in one of the recommendations: “This show reminded me of Baka to Test to Shokanju with an extra touch on Romance. Very funny to watch.”

Huh. I’ll just leave this here for future reference.

Sounds about right, although honestly Baka to Test had way more interesting things going on it in. I’m not a big fan of Baka to Test but it definitely had some originality.

So who’s going to be the next haremette? Now we have tsundere, childhood friend and trap.

Imouto: It suddenly turns out that Raku has stepsister. They’re not blood related so this is totally okay.

Chitose’s or Onodera’s imouto: I don’t know if they have little sister or not but if they do then this will probably happen. We need a cute kouhai character somehow.

The real childhood friend: It turns out Onodera isn’t the childhood friend after all.

Student council president: This happens a lot in harem anime, so why not?

Transfer student: There is two already but they already have their own clichés(tsundere and trap). We need a transfer student who’s gimmick is that she’s a transfer student.

Gay character: Pretty rare but sometimes happens.

Yuri character: Likes only girls in the beginning but falls in love with the male lead because he’s a nice guy.

    Senpai character: Maybe?

Random schoolgirl: Random schoolgirl has a problem, Raku fixes the problem, random schoolgirls falls in love.

I like romcom/harem anime. I enjoy all the predictable clichés. My guess is that they will reveal 3 more haremettes. Is this a good anime? Well, as anime this sucks, but as harem anime it’s actually good. Harem anime have always been shit. This is the norm for them. When you are watching harem anime you are probably watching a really bad anime. It’s really hard to find harem anime that is actually good.

I enjoyed Love Hina when I was teenager but it was the first harem anime that I saw. After rewatching it I realized how mediocre it was. For someone this will be their first harem anime and that’s why they will like it. It’s something different. They haven’s seen tsunderes or childhood friends yet. I actually think I would prefer Nisekoi over Love Hina because of the “shaft being shaft” thing. But I have to admit that Love Hina has this huge nostalgia value in it.

It’s hard not to feel like this show looked long and hard at Love Hina’s everyone-makes-childhood-promises premise and thought: “It’s been long enough, right? NO ONE WILL NOTICE.”

Granted Nisekoi(aka SHAFT GETS BORED NOW WITH MORE COLORS) is more enjoyable to watch by a longshot.

I want to make a drinking game for this show every time SHAFT does something SHAFTy but honestly you’d just have to drink the whole 22 minutes straight.

Well, if you go to the AniDB site, you’ll see the poster with four girls on it. The only one left is the chick claiming to be the real childhood friend and has the real key to the dude’s lock. Seems like she’s the Ill Girl, but instead of having a Shrinking Violet personality, she is more abrasive and vulgar…

      …Innovation, I guess?

      Spoilers incoming~
      Read at your own discretion~
But this is not Full Metal Alchemist.
Nisekoi’s spoilers can’t really be called spoilers.

Onodera do have a cute imouto.
She’s cruel to main dude in the beginning.
But main dude is so kind to her.
She fell for him in the end.

Main dude does have another childhood friend~
She is another type of ojousama
      She is police inspector’s daughter
She is very vocal at expressing her love

      So there you goes
      Some obvious predictable spoilers
Of this silly generic harem story

Wonder what anime counts as being the largest harem anime of all time? As in has the most haremettes?

I think Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar’s ending takes the cake there

‘Past the halfway mark’? I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that this was going to be two-cour.

For the TF2 reference you deserve respect, sir. Well played.

i HATED the remake when this series went serial. This and the bunny comic. The oneshot had potential. enjoyable (very), imho. Shoulda just kept the premise as. it. was. Go gunho on harem for all i care for your ratings…then they added a stupid promise to one and made a cartoonic head for the other. Blecgh.
