Nisekoi episode 4 – Hairless gorilla

vlcsnap-2014-02-04-20h03m17s119I continue to watch this vanilla
With no translations to help me parse
Whether he’s calling her a gorilla
Or is my understanding a farce

Why is she similar to an ape
The comparison makes no sense to me
It’s not appearance or body shape
Unless there’s something I can’t see

vlcsnap-2014-02-04-20h07m23s16What did he see in that locked room
While the two of them were alone
I don’t think we can just assume
What they did in there is all known

When she fell on top of his chest
In their best Love Hina impression
And he looked down at her chest
What he saw there is the question

vlcsnap-2014-02-04-20h04m33s112Her body was covered in hairs
The parts we normally don’t see
From neck to the knee-highs she wears
Thick fur on Kirisaki

Who cares if it’s only in Japanese
I’m clearly following this show with ease

    So do you enjoy Nisekoi?

I’m sure Scamp’s feelings for the show is “nisekoi” at best.

      Note: Nisekoi means “false love”.

Is Love Hina actually good? I suspect people are wearing rose-tinted glasses when they recommend it. What are some actually solid harems (loosely defined)?

A good harem hmm. I didn’t mind Negima(manga not anime) but mostly because it changes to a standard action shounen. Bakemonotogari does fit the harem definition, except from him getting a girlfriend early on. And if you don’t mind some elements it is quite entertaining.

Can’t remember a pure harem show I would recommend anyone.

Steins;Gate is a pretty good harem.

Legend of Galactic Heroes, with Reinhard and his lovely harem. Reuental’s the best tsundere, even if his feelings are more directed at Mittermeyer.

I like harem anime and have seen at least 30 true harem anime including Love Hina. The problem is that none of them is that good. I can’t really recommend any of them. True harem anime are never anything amazing. Clannad, Monogatari series or other anime that are kinda harem anime can be really good.

But if you want to try “true harem” anime then go ahead and try Love Hina. It’s one of the better ones at least. It actually can be really funny at times. That being said the comedy can also be really terrible too. The drama is also pretty horrible if you ask me but that’s a standard for harem anime. Try watching the first 3 episodes. After that you will know whether to continue watching it or not.

Better read it instead of watching. The manga is better drawn and obviously lacks voices. The manga also doesn’t dumb down Suu.

Then again, Love Hina’s only quality is that it has an actual solid ending.

“The comparison makes no sense to me”

Oh, you know, because she’s aggressive and punches really hard…boy, we’ve come a long way since the days of Slam Dunk when you had to draw someone to actually look like the animals they were nicknamed as.

So, I watched this episode without subtitles first and then with subs. Boy, does it make me appreciate Shaft even more. The shift in animation styles makes it feel like stuff is happening when there really is not. That said, the sub managed to make me snicker twice.

The yakuza and mafia guys are starting to really annoy me. The whole purpose of their existence to provide situations for more harem hi-jinx. “Let’s lock them in the store house, that will surely upgrade their relationship.” -.-
