Michiko to Hatchin episode 9

I got a bit confused recently when I thought I was the only person on WordPress saying anything about Michiko to Hatchin. Then when I get rid of the ‘anime’ part, it turns out there are a load of people blogging this. Why mine only shows up when you add in ‘anime’ is completely beyond me.

But that’s besides the point. Onwards and forwards to a Hatchin dominated episode. Which means it will be a great episode, right….right?

Since Hatchin and Michiko parted ways in the last episode, Hatchin is on her own and pennyless. I think Hatchin may have inherited a bit of Michiko’s street cred, buying the treasure map of the bloke. She really didn’t think things through much but it’s all good because she’s made some friends.

Hatcin picks herself up a friend who works at the circus. She’s one of those girls who are trying to act far older that they are so they can get an older guy to notice them. Thing is, seen this once and you’ve seen them all. Michiko to Hatchin doesn’t bring us anything different to the table with their version of the story, a story I was never all that fond of anyway.

What was good about the episode was little hints made by Hatchin. The most notable thing was how she reveted back to Hana, discarding the name Michiko gave her. However there a signs that she’s turning into a slight version of Michiko, such as when she went back to hit that kid. Plus there was that moment where Hatchin was riding the bike with the girl on the back just like good old Michiko on her motorbike.

I’ll admit, this moment was quite depressing. The guy came and took the statue down to replace it because someone had taken off the head. He was doing it completely out of his own good will yet the girl blamed him and attacked him. Sad that one of the few nice things we’ve seen anyone do over the course of this series gets turned to look bad.

So after some more boring conversations, Hatchin joins the circus and becomes the Daughter of 20 Faces.

Ah Hatchin. You really do look like a true bum

I thought a Hatchin dominated episode would be great fun but, apart from the moment when the guy took the Mary statue away, it turned out kinda boring. Now I just want to get back to Michiko and see how fat Satoshi has gotten over the years. Or maybe we won’t see Michiko until much later, or maybe the other way round and we’ll won’t see Hatchin.

Bleargh, that episode was dull, here’s a picture from a much better anime

I think this episode was to focus more on friendship than anything else. I really liked it actually. True, the reverse pedo story is played out a lot. But I liked how you get to see Hatchin bond with someone other than Michiko. The part in the beginning where she thought Hatchin was a boy was hilarious.I was waiting for someone to mistake her for one after she cut her hair.
