Kuragehime episode 1

The opening has a Star Trooper with a Jellyfish on it’s head. No more evidence for this anime’s awesomeness is needed. You will stop reading now and go watch this anime. Now.

(Look, I’m bored of writing first impression posts now. Kuragehime had the best first episode of the season, better than Arakawa. Just trust me this once and go watch it)

That… was a short post. But I agree, this episode was made of awesome! I love her cute eyebrows.

If there is Palpatine doing force lightning while wearing a Jellyfish on his head, it could’ve been the best anime of the year. The producers played it too safe.

They’re saving the lightning-shooting jellyfish for the eventual Zelda: Ocarina of Time parody.

As I watched the opening, all I thought was: “Oh god, Scamp’s gunna crap himself over this opening!”

    It’s ‘stormtrooper’, my dear…

Was feeling the awesomeness too. Also (randomly) for some reason I couldn’t take my eyes off the chubby one whenever she was on screen. Defo a keeper for me, and I expect, at least one other THATer too…

I usually skip over the openings in the first episode (Don’t ask why I don’t know either) But this one was good, very random and good.
And the eyebrows!!! They took their time in making vthem
I mean jellyfish + fujoshi + cross dresser what else can I ask for.
Now we are talking business in here.
So now, Scamp, did kuragehime come out of you screen??
Is it shaking you vigorously?? Are you writing something??
I am asking, just in case

Oh dearie me. You know the way you think it would be SO FUNNY to write a post after a night out? Well actually all that happens is you get an incredibly lazy post in which you manage to get the name of Darth Vader’s minions wrong

But by the way it seems to be going, you will get a lot of things to comment about in this series, even if you get all the names wrong.
They is said the Irish people have a very good sense of humour, so you can use your Irish powers to make all your readers laugh.
      Just saying….

Where can I get this legendary Irish sense of humour? Wonder if mine is lacking since I’m from Norn Iron :(

Tsukimi’s drawings of jellyfish were awesome. This seems like a wacky ensemble show ATM, though I suppose it could go in a number of different directions.

Kuragehime had the best first episode of the season

Oh, didn’t it what. By the length of a street.

    Yeah, it was really great.

I noticed that there was a lot of sadness inherent in Tsukimi’s character that is meant for the audience to identify with strongly. Normally audience empathy is par for the course in these shows we watch, but there seemed to be a knowingness and sincerity with which the author has handled this that seems to be especially effective.

I wrote a little bit about this on my bumblr.
