Introducing the tag cloud

I know, it doesn’t sound particularly exciting. Oh, a tag cloud. Whoop to doop. I can hardly contain my excitement. But this is no ordinary tag cloud! I never really saw the purpose of tag clouds before. If you want to navigate this blog properly, use the categories part. However I discovered a use for them. I really like they way some blogs, most notably Baka-Raptor, turn the tags into a joke of their own, while also notably including these same ridiculous tags on many different posts. With that in mind, I spent the past few days re-tagging every single bloody post for your entertainment.

Note that this tag cloud is not the ideal way to browse this blog. The categories on the sidebar is how you should really be searching. If you’re looking for a particular anime, that’s what the anime dropdown menu is for (which I was also updating while doing the tags. It’s still a bit faulty but I’ll fix that up over the next few days). But hey, I figured it would give a few people some laughs.

Nice. I need to go back in time and do a little retagging myself. At the 4-year mark I stole the joke tag idea from a football blog called Kissing Suzy Kolber. Anything before then that looks like a joke tag was only a joke to myself.

Stealing ideas from other blogs. Hurrah for us~

A load of those tags aren’t fully updated with each post they were mentioned in. Sometimes it’s because I’d only come up with the tag halfway through re-tagging everything or I’d forget I came up with the tag. Plus I have over 300 posts, there’s no way I’m going to catch every single time I talked about the Power of Love

I was wondering why we had a hundred and one “ping backs” on Bokutachi. This explains a lot.

Ah: I had forgotten that you were Irish; thanks for reminding me, Tag Cloud, haha. That and Chibitalia sucks — though that I can never forget.

Yeah, sorry about that. I only thought to turn off pingbacks halfway through the maintenence. Bokutachi was definately the worse hit.

I love how the biggest tags are about how Chibitalia sucks, that you’re Irish, and that you like anime aimed for fujioshis (like me).

I suppose Chibitalia was always going to be the biggest (24 posts of bitching? Maybe I really do complain about it too much~) but what surprised me was 17 posts of Endless Eight. Yikes, I’d forgotten what a big deal that was

I keep mentioning it in passing. Like ‘Why is there no Irish Hetalia character?’. Or ‘I can’t do astronomy in Ireland because it’s always cloudy’. Or ‘We make our headless fairies sexy in Ireland’.

He was always going to leave one day and when he does leave it’s going to be for Barcelona. That fact hasn’t changed no matter what the press go on about. Wenger doesn’t want to let him leave and the only way he will leave is if Barca offer a phenomenal amount of money. Something like over 50K. After seeing Barca’s financial difficulties (something like 300K in debt) and the fact that they’ve already signed David Villa, I have serious doubts that they’ll be able to prise him away. Fabregas isn’t demanding a transfer and Arsene wants to keep him. Next season he might leave, even if we do win something for a bloody change, but I don’t think Barca will be able to rustle up the money for him this season.

(Football is my only other hobby. Yup, that’s a tag too)

Too bad I can’t do this. The layout I have on my site isn’t really conducive to a bunch of tagging; it would just look ugly as hell.

There’s no way in hell I could put a tag cloud on the sidebar. This is a plugin which allows me to manipulate a load of stuff and it works a lot better as a page by itself
