Before I get down to this Hetalia post today, I need to ask you guys to vote for me in the Aniblog Tourney because I’m currently losing by 3 votes! Hopefully my loyal Hetalia fans (and those not-so-loyal and have only appeared on the blog for this specific episode while searching for a streaming site to watch Hetalia on) will be enough to swing the vote in my favour. If I win I shall continue to blog Hetalia no matter how many seasons it airs! Actually I’d continue to blog Hetalia even if I lost but vote for me anyway!
Hurrah for Hetalia being funny again! It’s such a hit-or-miss series that when the funny episodes do come along they feel all the sweeter. I’ve actually been to see the Mona Lisa on a school tour we had to Paris (no, I did not go to a posh fancy school. That was the one time we went abroad for a tour. Well, we did go to Northern Ireland once as well but that doesn’t count). As anyone else who has seen the Mona Lisa will tell you, it’s rather unimpressive in the flesh canvas. It’s popularity is more viral than because of its actual quality. Oh, and because it was Leonardo Da Vinci who painted it. Da Vinci, if you must know, is my favourite historical figure of all time. A lot of it can be explained in this article but a large reason of it is because my favourite Pizza place when I was a kid was called Da Vincis.
Ah Poland, it’s only your second appearance and you’ve excelled both times. The more fabulous a character is, the more I like him (ever wondered why this blog is named after Lelouch~) and Poland is almost but not quite as fabulous as France. France is fabulous because he has the history of being fabulous for generations so that’s a hard act to live up to but getting mentioned in the same sentence as France is quite the achievement for Poland. I love how Poland hears of the dangers coming his way, panics for all of five seconds and then returns to chewing the European equivalent of Pocky.
OK, so after the ending song Chibitalia appeared and I was ready for the usual reaction of clicking the X and saying no more about its existence because I’m sure you lot are sick of hearing me bitch about it. But then I saw France appear and I paused in my exiting motion. France is the best character in the series so I had to see what he would do. And he basically bullied Chibitalia. Even better, it gave this episode a nice rounded feel by showing that France has always bullied Italy from painting ownership rights to wars. And I left thinking “hey, maybe Chibitalia isn’t so bad after all“.
That was then followed by a scene of HRE doing Chibitalia up the ass and all was back to normal once again.
