There is some circle-jerk blogging competition going on called the Irish Blog Awards or something like that and I’ve been nominated in the Specialist category. I don’t really care about what happens to my blog in there because I am too cool to worry about such things. They haven’t even e-mailed me about including my blog, the cheek of them. You could go over and vote for me though, not that I really care either…wait a second. This thing is going being decided by a panel of judges and not by popular vote? Oh right then. Err-hum
Welcome Irish Blog Awards judges to The Cart Driver. I am delighted and humbled to have been nominated for such a prestigious event and their panel of highly capable and, if you don’t mind, quite beautiful/handsome (delete whichever appropriate) judges who will be overseeing the event. I would like to offer you a guide as to why I am deserving of such an award.
First, it might be strange to see a blog such as this in a competition for Irish blogs while I talk about Asian cartoons. However I have always remained an Irish man first and foremost, never abandoning my heritage and staying true to my people and my family in the Emerald Isle.
Most of the posts on this fantastic blog are reviews of these wonderful cartoons. I am calm and patient reviewer who takes each scene on it’s own merits and doesn’t overreact when little aspects of the show don’t go the way I had envisioned them.
Despite having reviewed many different series over the years, I remain good humoured throughout my posts. One point I try to make in particular is not to repeat myself with ideas I put through in previous reviews and approach everything I watch with an open mind.
When it comes to reviews, I believe one of the most important things is to always keep your mind on the product you are reviewing yourself. I will refrain from making any comments about fandom, especially making sure to refrain from insulting any potential readers. I am far too kind a person to partake in such hate mongering.
I’m a highly original blogger. I am certainly the only blog in the Irish Blog Awards that writes strictly about anime, but even in the anime blogging community I am well known for original ideas and not shamefully ripping off other bloggers ideas and passing them as my own.
I do try to contribute back to the anime blogging community as well. I even ran a competition similar to that of the Irish Blog Awards called the Aniblog Tourney. Needless to say it was very well received amongst the anime community.
As you can see, I am a highly established and quality blogger, with plenty of fans. Even with the vast repertoire of knowledge you judges must have, it is still possible that you may not have heard of The Cart Driver. A quick look at the comment sections would reveal that I am indeed a man in high standing and undisputed talent.
So look deep into your hearts and choose the right blog to win at the Irish Blog Awards. I’m sure you will make the correct choice.

Are you trying to lose on purpose this year, Scamp? =D
Not that I’m bitter about losing the final last year or anything
not even a tiny bit
A-fucking-men.
Best post ever.
Ric said it right, no wonder you’re popular!
… Now watch the judges LOVE it
Thumbs up!
Here in America, instead of Blog Awards, our circle jerk is something called the publishing industry.
…
…
I’m still waiting.
Also, A+ including that only a comment from Karry, THAT comment from Karry.
Oh Karry. I may be Scamp’s internet waifu, but you’re the one I’m going to leave him for and have a shotgun wedding with~
*a Scamp internet waifu
Damnit karry, stealing all my internet waifus
Don’t worry Scamp, I’ll be your internet waifu!
What about me? :D
Orightnobodycaresaboutmeandmythoughtstomakescampsaccentmyinternethusbando~
Dammit it, everytime I rewrite that, I mess up the grammar. I give up.
A Scamp’s internet waifu.
Remember when I said something about your sense of humor and not taking yourself seriously? This post is a great example of that. If you lose now, then the Irish Blog Awards becomes a joke.
See Irish Blog Awards Judges! I listen to my readers.
Now if you don’t mind me, I’m going to watch Aria and then been surprised that it’s not to my taste
One of my fave posts ever. I giggled through the whole damn thing for some reason, especially since I recognized some of the comments.
I’m seriously annoyed by not being able to vote at that site tho.
The damn Irish Blog Awards are silencing our voic-
Being that this is the Irish Blog Awards, anyone with a “DID YOU KNOW I’M IRISH? LET ME REMIND YOU” tag category should automatically get their judge’s scores bumped up by a point in this competition.
Ah, wonderful as always, Scamp~ ;D
I would say something funny, but unfortunately, my humor bank is rather empty, so all I can do is congratulate you, and wish you good luck.
Lol I guess your not denying that your popular now :P wow look at all that criticism! you must be secretly hurt :O
Let’s see here, you’re up against a breast cancer blog, a human rights blog, a blog for deaf kids, and a blog about assistance dogs for the autistic. I hope you kick their asses!
The only thing that made me laugh harder than Scamp’s actual entry was this comment.
oh god, seconded. lmao.
Holy crap, I’ve met those guys running the dogs for autism blog. They were selling dog calenders on the street of Dublin and they had some of the dogs with them.
I should take a leaf out of their book. Go around Dublin in a horse and cart selling dakimakuras
I’ll come to Dublin to see that. :P I don’t get much excitement these days.
I’d buy one, if you stocked a few Celty ones.
Scamp oh you.
You so funny.
Since it is appropriate, and you hate it so much, Good Job!!
Third (or Fourth?) time’s a charm. Congratulations in advance Scamp!
THOSE COMMENTS. lmao, i remember a few of those XD
brb, still laughing.
Lol man if you don’t win this, I’m calling conspiracy. Either that or bullshit
Either way, one of your best posts by far
BEST POST EVER.
Don’t worry, though, Scamp, even if you don’t win, you still have your fangirls!
… I believe in you!
Don’t believe in the me who believes in you. Believe in your ego! Your biased views will be the biased views to pierce the heavens. Do the impossible and kick shojo to the curb. Who the hell do you think we!
I could never kick shoujo to the curb, I just love romance too much ;)
WOAH
HE HAS FANGIRLS?!
I THOUGHT WE WERE JUST DEDICATED READERS ;-;
I don’t think winning or losing it will affect your popularity in any way. So, whatever!
au contraire if he wins i believe it will
Oh, you devious Scamp you. To think you wrote all those troll posts just to fuel your evil Irish campaign against deaf orphans and assistance dogs! Does your treachery know no bounds?!
He’s….as treacherous as Lelouch……
I am only disappointed that I didn’t get as much tsundere Scamp as advertised by the tag. Woo the judges with more of your tsuntsun!
I don’t think the judges now the meaning of tsun, so there is no need. It would be wasted on them.
But it would be so cute~
I hope you win, and if you don’t…things will happen to the judges…
See? You even have mercenaries working for you!
I really want to see if you do manage to win on top of charities though, and also, if they started from the beginning of the blog, they’d still see the Chibitalia hateOh lawd, Chibitalia hate. The nostalgia!
Although not an avid TCD reader, I enjoy reading your blog (and other anime blogs) from time to time to catch up on my anime what’s what (just a fan, married to a woman, not a Yoko Litner pillow — although the pillow probably doesn’t talk back). Anyway, congrats on the recognition (whether you want it or not). I wish I could attract witty, sarcastic and even hateful comments on my shit stain blog as you do yours. You micks are alright. Good luck.
Good luck Scamp! ^^
