Yes, we are neck deep in the “outrageously stupid moments” portion of my 12 Days run. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it’s definitely continuing tomorrow!
Anyway, WHO IS IMOUTO was a really super dumb series, particularly at the end when it proceeds as if anyone gives a shit about whether Shougo inherits his family’s company, or actually cares about who the little sister is. Little sis was definitely at her most entertaining when she was a creepy stalker who could ruin Shougo’s life at a moment’s notice rather than another girl whose problems can be solved. Yawn. But I digress; that’s not what I am writing about today.
WHO IS IMOUTO was quite abysmal much of the time, but there were moments where it achieved a weird sort of brilliance born from its commitment to being raunchy and stupendously idiotic. For that to happen, of course, many of the characters became less people and more objects of grandiose stupidity, in particular ol’ Creampuff at the top. I have no clue how she functions every day; it’s probably a criminal act that she was created to be so butt fuckingly stupid, her mind a portal to a vapid dimension of banality. I laughed a lot at certain moments and felt bad afterward, though I likely would have felt worse were it possible to feel a shred of sympathy for anyone in this series.
The moment up top is the last time I genuinely laughed while watching this series. Much like with Another‘s ridiculous deaths, it takes some imagination to conjure up someone so stupid that when you say you need to swab her mucus membrane for a DNA test, she drops her panties and expects you to stick a cotton swab up her cooter. It’s such an amazing, stunningly dumb scenario that it probably sets the women’s movement back a century, but the stone-faced seriousness with which it is treated got me.
So, yeah, it’s shit, but I laughed at it. That’s something.

I like to think the two of you have a solid grasp of what’s important to anime as a whole.
Its because of such brilliant deconstructions and impeccable taste that this is one of the most influential blogs of 2012.
Jokes aside, since we can safely assume the incest shows will never stop, how much longer will it be till one of you shoots yourself?
Eh, really, it’s super easy to ignore all the shows I don’t want to watch. Enough airs each season (along with the enormous backlog of great shows I’ve yet to watch) to keep me occupied.
Seriously though, if you havent watched Yamato 2199 – you are not qualified to run an anime blog.
Oh boy, better shut down all anime blogs then.

No, it was solved. It didn’t resolve much, as this was really should have been called “The High School Girls I Know are all Gold Diggers!”. Better name for the series.
It was actually quite fun, but don’t expect too much from the series.
